Real Estate Pioneer Helen Fisher Dies
Helen Fisher owned Willoughby Realty and paved the way for future female real estate leaders on the North Shore.

Helen R. Fisher was born Nov 8, 1922 in Chicago to William and Birdie Persky. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Harold Fisher, her brother Marshall Persky and her sister Gladys Lezak. Loving mother of Barry Fisher, Jo (Cole) Felman, Laurey Fisher, Elyse Kist and Wendy (Brian) Bowes. Proud grandmother of Jake (Denise) Chaitkin, Samantha (Lino Molteni) Chaitkin, Randy Chaitkin, Sara (Michael) Greenspan, Lindsay (Victor Vogt) Kist, Aaron, Hanna and Molly Bowes and Ben Scimeca.
She was happiest with her precious great- grandchildren Marianna, Leonardo and Carlo Molteni, Elijah and Maxwell Chaitkin and Gavin, Amelia and Stella Greenspan. She is also survived by her very close and loving niece and nephew Judi Lezak Bank and Alan Lezak and their families.

She loved and adored all the family dogs throughout her life. Helen grew up on the northside and attended Sullivan High School in Chicago and University of Illinois at Champaign before she went to San Diego, CA to work for the U.S. Navy Public Health Service.
Helen launched her career in real estate starting out in sales then becoming an award winning real estate broker by owning and operating Willoughby Realty which expanded to four thriving branches.

She was honored with the distinction of being the first female real estate broker on the Northshore leading the way for future women in real estate and by serving as a mentor to many.
Her endeavors lead her to her dreams of travel and being a “snow bird” in Boca Raton, Fl.
She was very well liked and respected throughout the community.
Helen was first and foremost an activist, always being politically involved and informed. Helen was very proud of her Jewish heritage. She loved gardening, theatre, film, cooking and baking for her family and travelling to many countries.
She was a passionate Master Bridge player. She loved people and had many friends, some for over 70 years and was always making new ones. She will be missed by all. Helen was a true pioneer and a renaissance woman!
