Rebecca Berneck Illustrates Operating a Business Like Racing a Motorcycle

Rebecca Berneck, motorcycle racer and CEO of Officeheads, lists the top three tips to win at business.

Rebecca Berneck is an accomplished motorcycle racer, focusing on land-speed racing. She has set land-speed records with the East Coast Timing Association and at the Bonneville Salt Flats with the American Motorcyclist Association. No. 1: Gather a pit crew. “It is important to understand the people who will make up your financial management team,” says Berneck. “Know the goals each will strive to meet, and the skills and capabilities of each, including the bookkeeper, who accomplishes financial tasks; accountant, who ensures the accuracy of reports; analyst or CFO, who manages cash flow; CEO or strategist, who grows the company; and the CPA, who manages tax liabilities.”

Money isn’t truly accounted for until it lands into the banking institution.”
