Road Rage Shooter Nabbed By Evanston Police

A Chicago man was charged this week for a shooting on Howard Street in February that left another man wounded.

EVANSTON, IL - Evanston police have charged a Chicago man in connection with a February shooting that injured another man.

Christopher D. Lawson, 29 was charged this week with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm after he was identified as the shooter from an incident that began as a traffic altercation on Feb. 10 on Howard Street.

According to police, the 45-year-old male victim was sitting in a parked car in a parking lot in the 900 block of Howard Street around 8:45 p.m. when Lawson allegedly approached him to argue about an earlier traffic incident. Lawson is accused of pulling out a handgun and firing two shots at the victim, one of which hit him in the left arm.

The wounded man was treated at nearby Presence Saint Francis Hospital and released shortly after.
