Roycemore to Launch First Virtual Admissions Event

Roycemore has closed its campus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but interested families can visit the school virtually on April 21.

Roycemore, an independent Pre-K through 12th Grade school in Evanston, had the benefit of experiencing a smooth transition to remote learning a month ago when the Shelter in Place order was announced by the Illinois Governor. Now, they are ready to tackle their next digital challenge, a Virtual Admissions Event scheduled for April 21 at 8:30am.

Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, Amanda Avery, shares more about how this idea came to be. “New families who are hearing about Roycemore are contacting me wanting to know how they can get a better sense of the school during this time of social distancing,” she says. “Yes, our campus may be closed, but it is our faculty and students who are the heart of the Roycemore community. That’s really where the magic happens."

During the event, members of the Admissions team will provide information about the application process, along with changes that have been made to that process as a result of the pandemic. Financial aid options will also be discussed as many families are concerned about the long-term and short-term economic effects of the COVID-19 crisis. Head of School, Adrianne Finley Odell, will be on hand to talk about Roycemore’s Signature Programs including Theme Week for Lower School (grades 1st-4th), Personal Passion Projects for Middle School (grades 5th-8th), and January Short Term for Upper School (grades 9th-12th).

Other programs unique to Roycemore will be showcased including a Partnership with Adobe, a design thinking curriculum integrated across all grade levels, and a long-standing Dual Enrollment Program with Northwestern University called NU Option. Current Roycemore parents, students, and administrators will be available, so interested families will be able to chat online and ask questions during the event.

“We are hoping interested families can come to the Virtual Admissions Morning and learn more about that magic,” says Avery.
