Ryan Field Among College Stadiums with the Best Grass: List

LawnStarter, a Texas-based site that connects homeowners with lawn care providers around the country, has included Northwestern University’s Ryan Field in their list of “Best College Football Fields with Gool ‘Ol Grass.’

As the name would suggest, the list encompassed the NCAA Division I football fields around the country with the best natural turf. It turns out Ryan Field is second in that category.

“Among the nine natural-grass college football fields we considered, Northwestern’s Ryan Field really stands out,” said Ryan Farley, co-founder and chief operating officer of LawnStarter.com. “It’s obvious that the grounds crew responsible for maintaining the turf at Ryan Field takes great pride in ensuring that it looks amazing.”

Iowa State University’s Jack Trice Stadium is the only one more impressive.

Grass fields at the University of Colorado, University of Florida and Michigan State University rounded out the top five.
