Same Gun Used In 2 Rogers Park Shootings: Police

Two men were shot to death blocks apart within two days, police said.

CHICAGO — The same gun was used to kill two men over two days in Rogers Park, police said. A 73-year-old man was shot and killed while he was walking his dogs Sunday, and a 24-year-old man was found fatally shot on a bike path Monday. The two shootings were blocks apart.

"Both shootings came from the same gun and likely the same suspect," Chicago police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said at a press conference Tuesday at the Rogers Park District police station. "The shell casings found at both crime scenes were found to be a match."

Johnson said additional officers and resources will be sent to Rogers Park while police search for a suspect. Both he and Mayor Rahm Emanuel warned residents to be "vigilant."

Moscowitz's friends said he was an avid gamer in the city's Pokemon Go community, the Tribune reported. A Pokemon Go group planned a vigil at 7 p.m. Tuesday on the bike path where Moscowitz was killed.
