An All Schubert Concert to Benefit St. Mark's Organ Fund, Saturday evening December 12th at 7:00 p.m.

An All Schubert Concert to Benefit St. Mark’s Organ Fund will be presented on Saturday evening December 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Mark’s, 1509 Ridge Avenue, Evanston.

Andrew Schultze, bass baritone, accompanied by pianist David Plank, will perform works by the eminent Viennese master including selections from the song cycles: Die schöne Müllerin, Winterreise, and Schwanengesang, as well as five of Schubert’s immortal songs, among them: “An die Musik”, “Die Forelle”, and “Der Erlkönig”. Arias from three of Schubert’s rarely performed operas will also be heard!

A free-will offering to benefit the St. Mark’s Organ Fund will be received (suggested donation: $20).

Andrew Schultze (bass baritone) is a member of Chicago Syntagma Musicum, a member of the Grant Park Symphony Chorus, and long-time member of Vienna’s Clemencic Consort. He is also the former Artistic Director of Ars Musica Chicago.

David C. Plank (piano) is the Associate for Music Ministries at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and teaches private piano lessons. He was the winner of the Lawrence University Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition (2008) and currently studies with Dr. James Giles of Northwestern University. He is also a member of the Music Teachers National Association and Illinois State Music Teachers Association and is currently accepting piano students.
