Schubert's "Trout" Quintet Highlights Evanston Symphony's Chamber Music Concert

See the Evanston Symphony Orchestra perform a special chamber music benefit concert at Nichols Concert Hall on June 28 at 3:00 p.m.

Evanston, IL — The Evanston Symphony Orchestra will present a special chamber music benefit concert at Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston on Sunday June 28, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Fifteen Principal and Co-Principal players, including Music Director Lawrence Eckerling, will form three quintets and perform in support of the Orchestra’s varied activities.

The principal work of the hour long concert will be Schubert’s tuneful “Trout” Quintet with Maestro Eckerling as pianist with four string principals. The woodwind quintet will play a special arrangement of favorite melodies from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and the brass quintet will perform compositions of Dukas, Gabrieli and Pollack.

Patrons will have the opportunity to meet the musicians at a free reception with refreshments immediately following the concert. Nichols Hall is located at 1490 Chicago Avenue in downtown Evanston and Sunday parking is free.
