Senior Citizen Nabbed for Jamming Cell Signals on Red Line
A 63-year-old man was allegedly caught in the act Tuesday morning near the Loyola stop in Rogers Park.

CHICAGO, IL - A Rogers Park man has been arrested in connection with using a signal jamming device on the CTA Red Line.
Dennis Nicholl, 63 was observed using an interference device Tuesday morning at the Loyola Red Line stop in Rogers Park by investigators from the Chicago Police Department, CTA and Federal Communications Commission who were looking into complaints from CTA passengers about bad cell phone reception on the city’s major North-South service line. The device was used Tuesday between the Loyola and Granville stops.
Nicholl was arrested on the Granville platform and charged with one count of unlawful interference with public utility. A police report indicates the arrest is Nicholl’s second offense.
