Sewer Work Taking Place in Evanston This Month
A sewer lining project is expected to be complete after two weeks.

EVANSTON, IL - Sewer lining work in Evanston will take place over the next two weeks.
A city project rehabilitating the public combined sewer lines using the "Curbed-In-Place Pipe" process began on Wednesday and will run through Wednesday, April 20.
During that time, city contractor Insituform Technologies will rehabilitate the sewer lines downtown in the vicinity of Ridge Ave. and Emerson St. between 8:30 p.m. and 7 a.m.

A notice will be placed on the front doorknob of buildings that will be affected at least 24 hours before work is slated to begin, according to a city news release.
During sewer rehabilitation, a liner is inserted into the public sewer that will seal the building sewer service connection and prevent it from flowing into the public sewer.

The city is asking those affected to limit water usage as much as possible while the work is being performed. Sump pumps should be disconnected during the time.
