Sherman Avenue Will Close For Block Party September 24
The 'Kits, 'Cats and Kids Block Party will fire up crowd ahead of big football weekend.

Sherman Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Church and Davis streets from 5-7:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 24 to make way for the ’Kits, ’Cats and Kids Block Party in Downtown Evanston.
The street will be closed “to allow children, students of all ages, and adults to participate in games, activities and crafts, while listening to live music on stage,” according to a newsletter sent by 7th Ward Ald. Jane Grover.
The Northwestern University and Evanston Township High School marching bands will perform, and special guests will fire up the crowd in anticipation of the NU Wildcat and ETHS Wildkit football games to be played that weekend.

Discounted football tickets will be sold at the block party to help fill Ryan Field with a sea of purple at 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, when the Wildcats will play Ball State.
The ETHS football team will host rival New Trier on Friday, September 25.
