Shooting Victim May Have Shot Himself: Chief
Police suspect 23-year old's story about two offenders on Dodge Avenue on Thursday is false.

EVANSTON, IL - The Evanston man shot inside his home on Dodge Avenue Thursday morning may have shot himself, Police Chief Richard Eddington told 2nd Ward residents at a community meeting covered by Evanston Now Thursday night.
The victim would have been in serious trouble if he was found to be in possession of a gun since he is a convicted felon, Eddington said, and it’s plausible he ditched the gun and returned to the home to call 911 since there was a gap in time from when the shooting took place and when police were called.
The man said two people were there when he was shot, but would not cooperate in providing police a description after he was taken to Evanston Hospital for treatment.
