Sigma Chi Museum Unveiled in Evanston
Interactive experience detailing history of the Sigma Chi International Fraternity was unveiled at its headquarters on Thursday.

EVANSTON, IL - The new Chuck and Kim Watson Museum of Sigma Chi was officially dedicated on Thursday at J. Dwight Peterson Sigma Chi International Fraternity Headquarters, 1714 Hinman Avenue.
According to a news release, it’s a new state-of-the-art, interactive experience detailing the storied history of the fraternity. It will display a collection of artifacts and memorabilia representing the Fraternity's history, its founders and several outstanding alumni Brothers since the Fraternity's 1855 founding at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Museum highlights include:
- Authentic Civil War and personal artifacts from Sigma Chi’s seven founders dating to the organization’s 1855 founding.
- The personal jeweled Sigma Chi badge, a handwritten letter and 1884 presidential campaign ribbon of honorary Sig President Grover Cleveland.
- Patch, flag and Sigma Chi badge worn by NASA astronaut John Young, GEORGIA TECH 1952, during the Apollo 16 mission, and Sigma Chi badge and mission patch from 1998 STS-90 Columbia mission piloted by Scott Altman, ILLINOIS 1981.
- Original artwork from Internationally-renowned cartoonist Milton Caniff, OHIO STATE 1930, whose syndicated Terry and the Pirates and Steve Canyon comics graced newspapers across the globe.
