Skokie Man To Share $250K Lottery Prize With Family

Faouzi Ziane hit it big with a $1 ticket he bought at the Skokie Marathon last month.

A Skokie man who won $250,000 from the Illinois Lottery when his $1 Lucky Day Lotto ticket matched all five numbers in an evening drawing last month plans to share the jackpot with his family.

Faouzi Ziane, a cab driver in Chicago, matched all five number - 01- 14 - 16 - 39 - 35 - in the May 2 drawing. He told Lottery officials he wants to “bring a smile” to his family’s face.

“After I realized I won a quarter of a million dollars, I started planning how I would share it with my family and friends,” said Ziane, who presented his winning ticket at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Des Plaines recently. The ticket was purchased at Skokie Marathon, 8001 N. Skokie Boulevard.

Ziane’s additional plans for the windfall include visiting his native country of Algeria and taking his daughter to France.
