Skokie Named One of the "Best Dressed" Suburbs in America

The fun team at Movoto is at it again with another fun list, and once more Skokie has caught their interest. This time it’s in the category of “Best Dressed Suburbs” in the United States, where Skokie came in a No. 5.

Utilizing a criteria that included the number of high-end clothing stores for men and women, jewelry stores and dry cleaners - Movoto actually found the village to be the third best suburb - but they “imagine that being close to the Windy City can’t be good for that hairdo.”

“Skokie was strong across several of the categories, placing in the 10 ten for clothing, shoes and jewelry,” Movoto content creator Clark Teft wrote. “Its strongest was high-end clothing stores, with a clothing store for every 2,945 people.”

Skokie trailed only Santa Monica, Calif., Scottsdale, Ariz., Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and Santa Clara, Calif. on the list.
