Small Business Saturday in Evanston/Skokie/Wilmette
Local businesses on the southern part of the North Shore will offer amazing discounts one day after Black Friday.

Positioned between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday has been a nationwide effort that has gained steam over the last five years to promote locally-owned businesses. Last year, an estimated $14.3 billion was spent at small, independent businesses nationwide on the day.

Lots to check out in Evanston on Saturday. The Evanston Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring free trolley rides from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. to help you get around.

Bucephalus Bikes, 1424 Lake St. is offering 15% off all accessories and 10% off for gift cards on Saturday.
The Spice House, 1941 Central St. will offer 15% off your entire purchase when buying four stock gift boxes on Saturday.
Jan’s Antiques, 2002 Dempster St. will offer 30% off all items on Saturday.
Allegro Dance Boutique will offer 25% off all “small” brands.
Evanston Stitchworks, 1234 Sherman Ave. will offer 10% off all yard and fabric throughout the store on Saturday.
Chicago Rare Book Center, 703 Washington St. will offer 20% off all books on open shelves on Saturday.
Happy Husky Bakery, 2601 Prairie Ave. will offer discounts of “up to 50 percent” on Saturday.
Buy a gelato and get one free Saturday at Frio Gelato, 517 Dempster St.
Each table will also get a free dessert with a purchase of food at Trattoria D.O.C., 705 Main St.
Downtown Wilmette is holding a “Ready, Set, Shop” program for its small businesses from Saturday, Nov. 28 through Sunday, Dec. 13.
