Smylie Brothers Brewing Company Celebrates 1-Year Anniversary
Smylie Brothers Brewing Company Celebrates One Year Anniversary with a Pig Roast, Live Music, and Special Beer Tappings
With their first year of operations under their belts, Smylie Brothers Brewing Company (1615 Oak Avenue) will host a celebration for friends and customers on Saturday, June 27.
“Hard to believe it has been a year already! The build-out and lead up to open required an incredible effort by everyone on our team. Without them and the fantastic turnout from the community to support us, we would not be where we are today,” says owner Mike Smylie.
It was just a year ago that Smylie Brothers opened the doors to the Evanston brewpub housed in the former social security office (and prior to that, the beloved Oak Street Market). In the first year, owner Mike Smylie estimates that the brewpub has served over 6,500 pounds of brisket, over 16,000 pizzas, and over 600 barrels of beer (with the IPA and Farmhouse being the most popular).

Those joining Smylie Brothers Brewing Co. on June 27 can enjoy any of the Smylie Brothers’ core beers for just $5 a pint and the brewing team will be on hand to discuss beer, give brewery tours, and tap special firkins throughout the day. On the food side, starting at 5:00, diners will enjoy a pig roast complete with family style BBQ. Live music from local Grateful Dead cover band, Jackstraw, completes the party. Tickets to Smylie Brothers’ first-anniversary party are $30 each ($15 for kids 12 and under) and are available by calling the brewpub at 224-999-7323 or through the Smylie Brothers website (www.smyliebrothers.com).
