South Shore Shake & Stir

Chicago Youth Centers (CYC), Chicago’s largest independent youth and family services organization will present South Shore Shake & Stir on Friday, March 18, 6-10 p.m. Hosted at the historic South Shore Cultural Center, this evening fundraiser will celebrate and raise funds for CYC-Rebecca K. Crown Youth Center (CYC-Crown) and its work with children and families in South Shore. Several local community leaders will attend Shake & Stir, including the event’s Honorary Chairs, 7th Ward Alderman Gregory I. Mitchell and Allyson Scrutchens, a former operations and program manager at the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.

Shaken or stirred? However you like your cocktail, the bartenders will have you covered at Chicago’s premiere spring event with a James Bond theme. Under high ceilings and chandeliers, enjoy cocktails, bites from Boka Catering, an extensive silent auction, and the highly anticipated return of the Chicago Catz, who are sure to get things shaking on the dance floor. This promises to be a stirring good time!

“South Shore Shake & Stir isn’t your typical gala, although it will feature all the fun and excitement of one,” said CYC Board member and event co-chair Judy Macior. “What makes this event different is the opportunity to honor South Shore’s past, present, and future with key members of the community. Investing in the neighborhoods we serve and partnering with community leaders is integral to CYC’s success, and South Shore Shake & Stir will reflect that. We’re excited to showcase local businesses and restaurants, including neighborhood bakery and café Give Me Some Sugah, and to host a meet and greet with local community leaders.”

VIP Tickets-$150, General Admission-$75

VIP guests will enjoy an exclusive cocktail hour (from 6 to 7 pm) with a meet and greet with South Shore community leaders, signature drink, mixology class, and gift bag featuring a gift made by CYC children.
