Unity on the North Shore is proud to welcome Spelman’s Glee Club, primary performance organization for the Atlanta-based liberal arts school specializing in education for women of African descent. Repertoire consists of sacred and secular choral literature for women’s voices with special emphasis on traditional spirituals, music by African-American composers, music from many cultures and commissioned works. With its reputation of choral excellence for more than 50 years, the acclaimed group has performed in such venues as Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center and National Public Radio.
