Standing Rock Water Protectors Discussion, Film Coming To Evanston
Discussion and film, "Standing Rock Water Protectors from the Voices of the Indigenous People" coming to Evanston Public Library.

EVANSTON, IL — The Evanston Public Library has announced an upcoming event entitled, "What You Need To Know About Standing Rock Water Protectors from the Voices of the Indigenous People: A Discussion."
Recent film clips from Standing Rock North Dakota Water Protectors and current construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline in Southern Illinois will be shown at the Saturday Feb. 25.
Discussion of the latest developments in North Dakota and in Illinois by the Water Protectors will follow the film and presentations on issues of Native American sovereignty will also be discussed.

- Dave Bender, Member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and Community Organizer of the American Indian Center Chicago
- Janie Pochel: From the Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation and Sicangu Lakota, Youth Advocate and Organizer
The discussion is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25, from 3:00-4:30 pm at Levy Senior Center in Evanston.
