Street Resurfacing Begins Tuesday in Evanston

Work on five city streets will take approximately seven weeks to complete.

Street resurfacing will take place on several Evanston streets over the next seven weeks.

The project - which involves five city streets - includes curb replacement as needed, roadway base repair, replacement of asphalt surface from curb to curb along with selected sidewalk replacement and driveway aprons.

ADA accessible curb ramps also constructed at the following intersections:

· Seward Street (Barton Avenue to Custer Avenue)

· Forest Avenue (Kedzie Street to Main Street)

· Kedzie Street (Sheridan Road to Culd-de-Sac)

· Sherman Avenue (Crain Street to Dempster Street)

· Foster Street (Ridge Avenue to Maple Avenue)

Construction will begin the week of September 8 on several street segments with the entire project expected to be fully completed by the middle of October.

No parking signs will be posted 48 hours before work begins on any street.
