Suspect in CTA Red Line Sexual Assault Turns Himself In

CHICAGO, IL - A Rogers Park man has been charged in connection to an early Saturday morning sexual assault near the CTA Red Line stop at Jarvis Avenue.

Milton Anderson, 26, of the 1700 block of W. Juneway Terrace near the Evanston-Chicago border, was charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault with a firearm and one count of robbery with a firearm Tuesday night, according to the Chicago Police Department.

Police say at 4:40 a.m. on Dec. 19, Anderson grabbed a 25-year-old woman from behind while she was walking on the sidewalk near the CTA Red Line stop at Jarvis. He displayed a handgun and forced her to a secluded area, where he allegedly robbed and sexually assaulted her.

After CTA surveillance photos were released to the public, Anderson turned himself in at 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore’s office. Moore accompanied Anderson to the police station, where the victim positively identified the assailant.
