Syd Rocks Live Fundraiser Planned for Evanston

Wilmette-based organization has raised more than $50,000 for Langerhan's Cell Histiocytosis research.

Syd Rocks Live 2015, an annual fundraiser to help raise awareness to help find a cure for Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis - a little known, potentially fatal disease that mainly impacts children under 10 - will be Saturday, September 12 at 27 Live in Evanston, 1027 Church Street.

The event includes three hours of music from local bands, necklace making and food and drinks.

Syd Rocks is a Wilmette-based foundation with a mission to educate, raise awareness and fund cutting-edge research to help find a cure for Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis. It is the brain child of 18-year-old Syd Martin, who received therapy for the disease and now raises money through the sale of signature necklaces and other related merchandise, fundraising events, community activities and foundation sponsorships.
