Tacos, Tequila, and Beer Dinner at Smylie Brothers on August 19
Evanston brewpub, Smylie Brothers, hosts beer dinner featuring taco bar, speciality beers, and tequilas.

On Wednesday, August 19 at 7:00 p.m., Smylie Brothers Brewing Company hosts its August beer dinner - “Tacos, Tequila, and Beer.” Smylie Brothers’ Executive Chef Grant Carey will create a Build Your Own Taco Bar where guests can craft tacos to pair with the brewpub’s beers, tequilas, and tequila cocktails. Items on the taco bar will include smoked beef brisket, carnitas, and grilled mahi mahi as well as a selection of salsas and toppings including, salsa verde, orange habanero salsa, and queso fresco. Head Brewer Brad Pulver will pour IPA, Mango Habanero infused Kolsch, and a special tapping of Roble Trigo, the brewpub’s tequila barrel aged Agave Wheat. In addition, to the beers, the event will feature a selection of tequilas and a Paloma, made with Mezcal. The slight smokiness from the Mezcal along with the spritzy grapefruit pairs really well with the smoked meat of the tacos, and compliments the beers being served. Prior to the dinner at 6:30 p.m., Brad will be offering tours of the brewery. Tickets are available for $25.00 each can be purchased at the brewpub, via PayPal, or by calling Smylie Brothers at 224-999-7320.
