The Stained Glass Bistro In Evanston Presents A Night Of Jazz On November 3 With Tammy McCann

The legendary Tammy McCann will sing for one night only at The Stained Glass Bistro in Evanston on Tuesday, November 3, at 6:30 p.m.

A quick look at the musical history of Tammy shows her impressive list of associates that she has worked with, including: Ernie Adams, Harrison Bankhead, Kevin Beauchamp, Ari Brown, Ray Charles, Chicago Jazz Orchestra, Five Blind Boys of Alabama, Laurence Hobgood, Henry Johnson, Ramsey Lewis, Mike Logan, Willie Pickens, Milt Trenier, plus legendary brothers George Freeman & Von Freeman. Tammy has also worked with her famous relative Les McCann.

Nora McCarthy of Inside Jazz Magazine says “She came bearing natural gifts and with raw talent in hand, she stepped up to the mic and into the hearts of everyone in the room.” Jazz Critic Stanley Crouch says: “Her pitch is superb.clear on the top and startling at the bottom, while all of the steps in between are polished with swing...I have not heard a voice like hers in decades.”

Opera singer Jason Balla has owned The Stained Glass and The Cellar for exactly one year, and he brings a fresh and exciting new vibe to both restaurants. Stained Glass Bistro will do more Jazz music nights and maybe even an opera singer or two. Tammy McCann will have her first special night at The Stained Glass on November 3 at 6:30 p.m.
