In an effort to help teens bridge the very large gap between local children’s theater and more professional opportunities, as well as learn the skills of producing events, talent Agent Sam Samuelson and Neal Levin started Open DORE Productions.
The organization’s inaugural event, Teen Cabaret, will kick off on Saturday, March 7 at Amy Morton’s (Levin’s wife) Found Kitchen and Social House (1631 Chicago Ave., Evanston, IL), which has done much to support the program and its commitment to bring more live music to Evanston.

A Cabaret style setting is extremely difficult and provides an outstanding opportunity to make the teens vulnerable enough to truly connect with their audience. The original cast—which, along with repertoire, will rotate from event to event—has been working extremely hard over the past few weeks, and are very excited about this weekend’s first show.
