1 Cited in Underage Booze Sting
Undercover operation shows nearly all Evanston businesses tested asked underage person for ID.
UPDATE: One citation was issued, to Chili's.
EVANSTON, IL - Once again, all Evanston businesses faced with an undercover underage compliance sting passed with flying colors.
The Illinois Liquor Control Commission and Evanston Police Department conducted 17 underage compliance checks on Wednesday, netting just the one violation.
In February, all 34 businesses targeted in an underage tobacco compliance sting by the Evanston Police Department also passed.
Then, the EPD didn't name the businesses that had passed. This month, the ILCC did.
The following establishment(s) passed the compliance check by refusing to sell liquor to underage participants working with the ILCC and EPD.
