Victim of Darrow Ave. Homicide Was Student at Curt's Cafe
The 20-year-old had just been accepted to a culinary program at a local college.

EVANSTON, IL - Benjamin “Bo” Mandujano-Bradford, the 20-year old victim of a shooting last week on Darrow Avenue, was in a program at Curt’s Cafe where at-risk youth are given opportunities to learn food service skills and had recently been accepted to a culinary skills program at Oakton Community College.
Other members of the program joined family and friends in a ceremony this week remembering Mandujano-Bradford, who had just passed his food service examination on Jan. 19, the day of the shooting according to the Evanston Review.
“In honor of the legacy of your son,” Curt’s Cafe Executive Director Susan Trieschmann told Mandujano-Bradford’s mother.

“We’re going to make sure that each and every young man that comes through the program knows about Mr. Bradford and his goals, and we’re going to hold his legacy in our heart.”
Early information from Evanston police indicated Mandujano-Bradford had been involved in “an illicit transaction” prior to being found shot to death in the 1300 block of Darrow Avenue - just around the corner from Curt’s - last Tuesday.
