Watch Seth Meyers' Funny Commencement Speech at Northwestern
The Northwestern alum talks Donald Trump, Central Street and people smarter than him in speech to recent graduates.

EVANSTON, IL - Popular “Late Night” comedian and Saturday Night Live Weekend Update alum Seth Meyers provided the laughs, many at his own expense, during Northwestern University’s spring commencement ceremony on Friday.
The 1996 NU alum and Evanston native added a neat local tie to his speech, noting how everything circles back to Central Street.
“42 years ago I was born down the street at Evanston Hospital. 20 years ago, I graduated in this very same spot, and today I am speaking here,” he said.

“So basically every 20 years or so, a major life event happens to me on Central Street….which means I’m looking forward to 2036 when I finally start my dream job at Mustard’s Last Stand.”
Meyers joked quite a bit, but in the end expressed his gratitude toward Northwestern. He said it’s unlikely he would ever have the chance to be on SNL or host a prominent national talk show without his experiences here.
