Winnetka Man Had Cocaine, Oxycodone, Weed In Rental Car: Cops

He was driving without headlights through Evanston early Saturday morning, according to police.

EVANSTON, IL — A Winnetka man faces felony charges after Evanston police allegedly found several types of drugs in his vehicle last weekend. Around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning, police pulled over an white Nissan Rogue after seeing it driving with its lights off in the 2300 block of Emerson Street, according to Cmdr. Ryan Glew.

Nicolas Gigiolio, 29, of the 400 block of Ridge Avenue in Winnetka, was driving the car, police said. Officers reported smelling marijuana wafting from the rented Nissan, so they searched the vehicle.

Inside, police found more than 30 grams of marijuana, about 7 grams of oxycodone and approximately 5.6 grams of cocaine, according to police reports. Officers also found a glass marijuana pipe in the vehicle.

Gigiolio was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, Glew said.

The Winnetka resident was also charged with two misdemeanors – possession of between 30-100 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also issued a ticket for driving without headlights. His next court date was set for Jan. 31.
