World Sport Chicago (WSC) will host the fifth annual Valor Games Midwest in Chicago on August 18-20. The nonprofit honors those who have served our country with this regional, introductory competition for injured, ill and wounded veterans and active duty service members. Presented in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Chicago Park District, the three-day event features six sporting events including discus, shot put, cycling, indoor rowing, powerlifting and archery. The Valor Games gives veterans and active duty service members the opportunity to regain their confidence, purpose and competitive spirit.

“World Sport Chicago is honored to be hosting the Valor Games for the fifth year in a row,” says Stephanie Miller of World Sport Chicago. “We support those men and women who have dedicated themselves to protecting our country and give them the chance to come together for three days that highlight their talents and honor their sacrifice to keeping us safe.”

Additionally, for the second-straight year, World Sport Chicago is partnering with BP to create a “Wall of Thanks” composed of handwritten thank you notes and social media posts directed toward Valor Games athletes. Supporters can send personal notes of encouragement to participants by using the hashtag #WallOfThanks on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
