16 Bags of Methadone Found In Woman’s Pants: Police

Evergreen Park cops find 16 bags of methadone in Oak Lawn woman's pants during traffic stop, prosecutor said.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- An Oak Lawn woman was arrested during a traffic stop when police found methadone in her pants, prosecutors said. Melissa Dronski, 37, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

According to the charges, Evergreen Park police were in the area of 87th Street and South Central Park Avenue on May 24, when they saw a Buick commit a traffic violation. As officers approached the car, the driver, later identified as Gronski, was seen reaching toward her legs in the car. Gronski allegedly admitted to police that she had just purchased 16 bags of methadone.

The assistant public defender told the judge that Gronski did not have money to post bond.

“The irony is that she is allegedly buying drugs,” Felice said.

Gronski was released on a $30,000 I-bond and must submit to weekly drug testing. Her next court hearing is June 14.
