EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- Local business owner and 7-Eleven franchisee Hector Murillo, who operates the store at 3440 W 95th St, recently presented a Project A-Game grant to Most Holy Redeemer School. This is Murillo’s third year of applying for a grant, which allows local franchisees to make financial contributions in the communities served by their stores.

MHR principal Nancy Hamening, along with the staff and students, accepted the $711 donation on behalf of the school. The donation will be used to update their classrooms with the latest technology to help in the education of almost 400 students that attend Most Holy Redeemer.

“Our store is part of the neighborhood, and as such, we wanted to be good neighbors to the community that we serve,” Murillo said. “This Project A-Game grant lets us play a part in local kids’ success, and I can’t think of a better way to give back.”

The grant is made possible through 7-Eleven’s Project A-Game youth outreach program. Project A-Game’s mission is to help kids develop their full potential by promoting youth education, fitness, safety, and hunger relief, as a path to success. Franchisees who identify a specific need in their community can apply for a grant on behalf of a school or youth nonprofit organization in their neighborhood.
