Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists Releases 2016 DUI Arrest Results
See how many DUI arrests were racked up in the south suburbs during 2016.

SCHAUMBURG, IL -- The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists came out with the results of its DUI arrest survey for 2016. Nearly 700 communities across Illinois were surveyed, with 81 percent responding.
AAIM is an Illinois-only citizen activist group founded in 1982 by victims of drunk driving based in Schaumburg. The group promotes prevention, victim advocacy and legislation for tougher drunk driving laws and is a recognized expert in this area.
The group has been conducting its survey of Illinois police departments's annual DUI arrests since 1990. The AAIM survey serves to give recognition to the most productive departments that aggressively pursue impaired drivers and police officers.
Rockford led the state in with 459 DUI arrests in 2016. The Oak Lawn Police Department led the south suburbs in DUI arrests, logging 223 in 2015. Oak Lawn grabbed the eleventh spot in the state.
