EVERGREEN PARK, IL—Members of American Legion Post 854 will conduct their annual Post Everlasting ceremony Monday, May 25, which is Memorial Day. Residents are encouraged to join veterans at 11 a.m. at 97th Street and Kedzie Avenue to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The parking lot will be blocked off for the ceremony, so people are encouraged to arrive before 10:30 a.m.
American Legion members will post their colors and lay a wreath to honor those who’ve fallen advancing the flag for our country. The ceremony will conclude with a 21-gun salute and taps.
After the ceremony, veterans will retreat into the American Legion hall to remember Post 854 members who passed away in 2026.
