EVERGREEN PARK, IL—The Evergreen Park Police Department is joining forces with the Illinois Department of Transportation and Illinois State Police to urge motorists to stop speeding and help ensure everyone reaches their destinations safely.
Over the past few years, EPPD hahaseen an increase in careless and risky driving. No matter how safe of a driver you think you may be, speeding is dangerous.
Stepped-up patrols will be seen throughout Evergreen Park from July 7 to Aug. 14 as part of the Slow Down EP campaign.
On Wednesday, July 22, police chiefs throughout the state will participate in “Illinois Speed Awareness Day” to further combat speeding and reckless driving.
The speed enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by IDOT.
