Be A Part Of Mustang Nation Friday At EPCHS Fan Fest Before The Homecoming Game

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The third annual Homecoming Fan Fest at Evergreen Park Community High School will bring out fun for everyone from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. Held along Mayor James Sexton Drive between the EPCHS school building and athletic fields, this always popular community-wide event will feature games, activities, food and fun for all ages.

"Fan Fest has quickly become one of my favorite events of the year," said Amy Kazin, EPCHS' director of activities. "It's been great to see so many people in the community come to our campus to have a great time and support our Mustangs. We hope everyone will come on out, have some fun, and then stay to cheer our varsity football team to a homecoming victory."

This year, two new vendors will be making their EPCHS Homecoming Fan Fest debut. Beach Avenue BBQ, with a location in Brookfield, specializes in its pasture-raised pork, grass-fed beef and locally sourced, sustainable ingredients. Frozen Fiesta, a family-owned business serving Chicagoland, will bring its snow cones and other tasty treats.

Additional food items will also be available for purchase, but all activities are free including Chalk the Walk, inflatables, face paint, a mobile gaming truck and more. Many of the Fan Fest activities will take place on the EPCHS baseball and softball fields as well. A number of EPCHS clubs and sports teams will have information booths at the event, as will a number of Evergreen Park-based organizations and local businesses.

Both EPCHS' Folkloric Dance Club and the school band's drumline will perform at Fan Fest.

"We're excited not only to have more of our clubs represented, but quite a few community business partners as well," Kazin said.

Fan Fest attendees are encouraged to remain on campus for EPCHS' Homecoming football game against rival Oak Lawn. The kickoff between the Mustangs and visiting Spartans is scheduled for 6 p.m.
