Athlete of the Week: No Stopping Evergreen Park Football Standout Victor Baker
The Mustangs' senior running back was a workhorse in the first half of Evergreen Park's 28-9 loss to Eisenhower. He wasn't going to be denied.
In a Friday night football matchup vs. Eisenhower, Evergreen Park running back Victor Baker knew he'd be getting the ball a majority of the time. And Eisenhower knew it, too.
Yet, Baker still rushed for 113 yards on 16 carries. He nearly took a long run to the house, but was called down just shy of the goal line.
Baker's role diminished in the second half of Evergreen Park's 28-9 loss because the Mustangs trailed by double digits, but Evergreen Park coach Dan Hartman will continue to rely heavily on the senior running back as the season continues.
