Brother Rice, Evergreen Bow Out of Summer Baseball Tournament
The Crusaders and Mustangs lost in the Richards Regional of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association summer state playoffs.

After winning its play-in game, Brother Rice’s baseball team fell this week in the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Phil Lawler Summer Classic.
At 9 a.m. Monday, Brother Rice defeated Eisenhower 13-3, but the Crusaders lost 8-4 to St. Laurence later in the day in the first round of the Richards Regional at St. Laurence.
Evergreen Park fell 13-3 in the opening round to Mount Carmel.

Evergreen Little League All-Stars Win Sectional
The 11/12-year-old Evergreen Park Little League All-Stars beat District 8 champion Roseland on Tuesday to win a sectional tournament at Norris Field and advance to the Little League state finals in Libertyville, which began Friday.
McAuley's Ford Gets Scholarship
Mother McAuley’s softball program has had its shares of good news this summer. After advancing to the sectional finals in June, this month the team announced that Dana Ford has accepted a softball scholarship with Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Ford was most recently a shortstop for the Mighty Macs, beginning her career as a freshman. She also played lacrosse for the McAuley, helping her team advance to state sectionals in June.
