Candlelight Theatre Casting Kids for 'Babes In Toyland'

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- If you know a boy or girl with an interest in performing, Evergreen Park Candlelight Theatre is looking for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 13 to appear in the grand finale of Victor Herbert’s famous operetta Babes In Toyland. Children will be cast in the roles of toy soldiers in the grand finale of “March of the Toys.” Rehearsals for the toy soldier cast begin in mid-April.

Children interested in being a toy soldier are invited to come register on Wednesday, March 28, starting at 7 p.m, at the Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan Ave. in the dining room. Please note that there is a $40 costume rental/administration fee. Fees will be collected at this time and children will be measured for their toy soldier costumes. The toy soldier cast needs to be available for rehearsals on these dates:

Sunday, April 15 afternoon
Sunday, April 22 afternoon
Tuesday, April 24 evening
Thursday, April 26 evening (the final dress rehearsal)
and then performances over the weekend of April 27, April 28 and April 29

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28, with a matinee at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 30. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors/students, and $5 for children 9 and under.
