Earlier this week the principal of Queen of Martyrs in Evergreen Park went against the Archdiocese of Chicago and declared masks optional in his school. He was placed on administrative leave in a matter of hours. A large protest outside of the school quickly took place and by midnight that evening his policy was adopted for Catholic schools in most of Cook County, including Evergreen Park. Doc Mathius now sits down with us to talk about what happened, why it happened and what he hopes happens next.
