Cook County Election Judges and Equipment Managers Needed for April 4 Election

Earn $190 as an election judge and $340 as an equipment manager by working in the April 4, 2017 consolidated general election.

COOK COUNTY, IL -- Vote and earn money by serving as an election judge or equipment manager in suburban Cook County in the upcoming consolidated general election on April 4. Cook County Clerk David Orr encourages suburban voters to serve their communities

There are two positions available: Election Judge and Equipment Manager. Judges earn $190 and equipment managers can make $340.

Both assist voters and ensure the polling place is running smoothly. Equipment managers have greater responsibility for setting up and maintaining the voting equipment. Because of the additional responsibility, equipment managers receive more training and higher pay.

Prospective judges and equipment managers must be 18 or older and be a registered voter in Cook County (register here). Poll workers will need to complete online and hands-on training classes. Bilingual judges are always needed.

Anyone who wishes to serve on Election Day is encouraged to apply soon, so they will have time to take part in training classes. Prospective election day workers can apply online or by calling 312-603-0970.

Returning election judges and equipment managers as well as newbies who have submitted applications can use Judge Connect on the clerk’s website to inform the clerk’s office of their availability to work, sign up for training, view assignments and more.
