EVERGREEN PARK, IL - Rocco Cipolla, a junior at Evergreen Park Community High School, has qualified for the IHSA Cross Country state meet. It's the second year in a row in which Cipolla has qualified.

Cipolla ran the 3-mile race in 15 minutes, 43 seconds at last week's sectional, placing ninth, to qualify. That's more than two minutes faster than his 2021 sectional-qualifying time of 17:52.

"Rocco is the prime example of a student-athlete and leader," EPCHS Head Cross Country Coach Pat Doran said. "He never stops working hard, and is a prime example that hard work and perseverance pays off."
