Custodian Retires After 15 Years At Evergreen Park High School
Mike Gallagher, a longtime custodian at Evergreen Park Community High School, is retiring after 15 years on the job.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL - A well-known face around the halls of Evergreen Park Community High School is looking forward to his upcoming retirement.
Mike Gallagher, who has been a custodian at EPCHS since the 2007-2008 school year, will be officially retired come June 30. He received a standing ovation, and cake in his honor, from other EPCHS staff members at the final faculty meeting of the 2021-2022 school year.
Gallagher was hired in the middle of 2007-2008 to be a custodian on the second shift. After six years on the second shift, Gallagher was switched to the first shift, where he remained for the past nine years.

EPCHS Superintendent Tom O'Malley noted Gallagher's consistency, often being the first person to respond to a spill or mess throughout the building, while honoring him during the faculty meeting.
Gallagher said he plans to spend much of his retirement relaxing, spending time with family, and playing bowling and golf.
