D124 enhances communication through text messaging

Evergreen Park School District 124 now has the ability to keep its families and staff members informed through the use of text messaging.

This tool will allow the District to better communicate during a crisis, and gives D124 the ability to send important updates or reminders. District principals also have the ability to use the function to communicate with families from their buildings.

In order to begin receiving these text messages, District families will need to “opt-in” from each cell phone number registered with D124. Every number in the District’s system received an initial message asking families to “opt in” on Oct. 30.

Those with phone numbers registered with D124 who did not receive, or did not respond to, the initial text message can also opt-in by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587.
