D124 schools raise over $45K for St. Baldrick’s

Central Middle School, Northwest School, and Southwest School hold head-shaving events

Three Evergreen Park School District 124 schools teamed up to raise more than $45,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation during their head-shaving events in the month of March.

Southwest and Northwest schools both held their events on Friday, March 15, when students and staff members shaved their heads in support of childhood cancer research. The two schools combined to raise $40,000, with 50 students and staff members shaving their heads.

On the following Friday, March 22, Central Middle School held its Big Shave event. On this day, students shaved their heads, pied their teachers, and purchased Shamrock Shakes, all in an effort to raise funds for St. Baldrick’s. In total, CMS raised more than $5,000.
