D124's Pre-Kindergarten Program Earns Illinois's Highest Honor

The Pre-Kindergarten Program at Evergreen Park Elementary School District 124 has earned the Gold Circle of Quality Award through ExceleRate Illinois. This top distinction is a part of the Illinois State Board of Education’s new quality rating system which recognizes early learning and development providers who make continual improvements a regular priority and whose programs meet or exceed the highest standards.

Recipients of the Gold Circle of Quality designation have met the uppermost benchmarks in three specific content areas for early childhood education in the Preschool for All (PFA) programs. These areas include learning environment and instructional excellence, administrative standards, and staff qualifications and professional development opportunities.

Evergreen Park Elementary School District 124 has two PFA program sites located at Northwest Elementary School and Northeast Elementary School, respectively. Both schools were honored with this prestigious award.

“I am very excited that our district’s Pre-Kindergarten program has been honored with such a high achievement,” said Denise McField, District 124’s Coordinator of Student Support Services. “This award shows the dedication that our teachers have for educating students and enhancing their future academic success.”

PFA programs were honored by the ISBE, Governor’s Office of Early Childhood Development, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and the Illinois Department of Human Services.
