Daring Panel Of Graphic Novel Experts Discusses Genre At EP Library
Learn how to write and publish graphic novels Thursday, Oct. 19, at the Evergreen Park Public Library. Talk to experts and meet artists.
EVERGREEN PARK, IL —Meet a daring panel of local graphic novel experts to unlock your graphic novel reading and writing superpowers Thursday, Oct. 19. The panel convenes at 6:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave. In addition to the panel, a reception to meet Saint Xavier University graphic artists will start at 6 p.m.
Graphic novel fans of all ages will interact with the panel of experts that includes:
- SXU graphic novel instructor and author Dan Dougherty,
- Evergreen Park Community High School Reading Specialist Colleen McWalter, and
- Oak Lawn Community High School Art Division Chair Eric Kallenborn
These experts will address the relevance, value, and growth of graphic novels and dispel the misconception that graphic novels are comics for kids. Fans of the genre will also get tips on reading, writing and publishing their own graphic novels. Attendees are invited to mix and mingle with the artists and panelists, and peruse the art exhibit before or after the panel discussion.
