Pot in the Pocket, Cocaine on the Floor: Police Blotter

Evergreen Park police reports, Dec. 15 - 19.

Pot and the Passenger

William Rake, 22, of Evergreen Park was charged with possession of cannabis. Police said that at about 11:20 p.m., they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle on the 3300 block of west 97th Street. Upon investigation, they reportedly found a small bag of marijuana in Rake’s right front pocket. Rake was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver was not charged.

Pot and Cocaine

Russell Johnston, 28, of Chicago, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a controlled substance, police said. At 10:34 p.m., police said they saw Johnston fail to stop at a stop sign near 99th and Homan. He was pulled over and reportedly admitted having a small amount of marijuana in his right front pants pocket. Police said they searched his vehicle and found yellow powder on the floor of the car, which was field tested and found to be cocaine.
