DSW, Five Below Set To Open This Week At Evergreen Market Place

EVERGREEN PARK, IL -- If you like designer shoes and trendy items for under $5, two new stores are preparing to open this month in the rebooted Evergreen Plaza. DSW is preparing for an Aug. 17 opening. Next door, Five Below is aiming to open on Aug. 18. Both standalone stores are located on the west side of the redevelopment at 95h Street and Western Avenue.

DSW carries the latest styles of designer shoes, boots, sandals, handbags and other accessories. The space is being stocked with merchandise. DSW is still doing some hiring, according to a July 27 job posting on the retailer’s website.

Five Below sells “cool and trendy” products to the teen and preteen set for $5 or less. The ever-evolving assortment of products include cell phone cases and chargers, remote control cars, yoga pants, graphic tees, nail polish, footballs and soccer balls, tons of candy and other seasonal must-haves.

No word yet if DSW or Five Below are planning anything special for their grand openings. The stores are the first open at the Evergreen Plaza redevelopment since Carson’s fall 2016 opening. The once futuristic, 1950s-era indoor shopping center is being transformed into 21st century, outdoor standalone mall.

More retailers are slated to open this fall.
